Adult Study

Temple Emanuel believes that Jewish education doesn’t end after Hebrew school: it can and should continue all our lives. Each year, adult education classes are offered to enhance our lives, stimulate our minds, and expand our spiritual horizons.

Recent and future sessions of adult education classes include:

  • Introduction to Kabbalah
  • “I and Thou” by Martin Buber
  • An Introduction to the Koran for Jews
  • Great Books of the Jewish Tradition
  • Introduction to the Hebrew Prayerbook

Other opportunities include study of the weekly Torah portion, a Saturday morning Learners’ Minyon followed by in-depth discussion over bagels, and adult Hebrew classes. Classes are taught in a casual and inclusive style which emphasizes discussion and personal application.

For the majority of classes, no background is necessary. Participants of all backgrounds are welcome.

All classes are led by Rabbi Rose, who holds a PhD in Jewish Philosophy and whose teaching experience includes two rabbinical seminaries.
